1. Who We Are

Tastique is a recipe sharing platform that allows users to register, submit content, and save favorite recipes for future use.

2. Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to determine if you’re using it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy. After approval, your profile picture may appear next to your comment.

3. Media

If you upload images to the site, please avoid uploading images with EXIF GPS location data. Visitors to the site can download and extract any location data from images.

4. Cookies

a. Site Cookies

  • If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies. These last for one year.
  • When visiting the login page, a temporary cookie is set to check if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is deleted when you close the browser.
  • Upon login, several cookies are set to save your login and screen display choices. These last for 2 days (or 2 weeks if “Remember Me” is selected). Logout removes these cookies.
  • If you edit or publish an article, another cookie is saved indicating the post ID of the article — it expires in 1 day.

b. Favorites Plugin Cookies

We use cookies to save recipes and content you mark as favorites. These cookies store your saved content so you can return to it later — even without an account. You’ll be asked for consent before saving any favorites via cookie.

5. Embedded Content

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, or articles). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the external site directly and may collect data, use cookies, and monitor your interaction with that content.

6. Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties unless legally required.

7. How Long We Retain Your Data

  • Comments and related metadata are stored indefinitely for auto-approval of follow-ups.
  • Registered users’ data is stored in their profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their data (except their username). Admins can also access and edit this information.

8. What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an export of your data. You can also request we delete any personal data we hold about you. This excludes any data we must keep for legal, administrative, or security purposes.

9. Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be scanned by an automated spam detection service.
